Elizabeth Burns
M.S., CCC-SLP
Elizabeth is the owner and founder of SpeechMod, which she launched after realizing a need in the market for flexible and personalized presentation and accent modification instruction. She has been a speech-language pathologist for more than 25 years and has experience working with older children/adolescents and adults. She has completed advanced training in articulation, stuttering, and language therapy, as well as presentation skills and accent management coaching courses. Additionally, she is a trained and approved administrator of the Comprehensive Assessment of Accentedness and Intelligibility (CAAI), the only approach that is based on the latest research. Elizabeth has conducted presentations on a variety of speech and language topics across the country. She is also a former president of the North Carolina Speech, Hearing, and Language Association.
Wendy Lybrand
M.S., CCC-SLP
Wendy has more than 20 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, and she and Elizabeth have been a team for nearly as long. She has also been trained to use the CAAI for accent management. She has served as a guest lecturer at UNC-Chapel Hill, and given presentations nationally on a variety of speech and assistive technology topics. Wendy completed the ASHA Leadership Development Program and is a former president of the North Carolina Speech, Language, and Hearing Association.
